La Bussola occupies an early 20th century pasta factory, painstakingly restored and masterly converted in unique, 4 star hotel. Brimming with Mediterranean charm, the hotel's spacious, light-filled bedrooms are furnished in classic Amalfi Coast fashion, complete with the area's typical, hand-painted majolica floor tiles. Almost all rooms enjoy breathtaking views of the sea. Those looking for additional luxury, should try to book one of the hotel's much sought-after "Prestige" rooms, with frontal sea view balcony or terrace and Jacuzzi bath.

La Bussola's restaurant is famous for its delicious Neapolitan cuisine, served in the hotel's elegant dining rooms or on the panoramic, sea view, terrace. The hotel's superb food and wine and romantic in and outdoor dining venues make it the perfect location for a dream wedding reception or gala dinner. For small scale business functions and conferences, La Bussola has an attractive, 100 seat meeting room.

Located on the seafront of Amalfi, overlooking the harbor, La Bussola lies within easy walking distance of the town's beautiful little beaches and picturesque historic center. The towns of Atrani and Positano are just a short car or boat ride away. Holidaymakers unwilling to stray far from the comfort of their bedroom, might easily be found soaking up the Mediterranean sun in La Bussola's fourth floor solarium or on the sea edge sundeck, situated on the rocks directly opposite the hotel. Private parking is available for those guests traveling by car.

The best place to stay in Amalfi town

We loved our stay at Hotel La Bussola! This is a genuine family-run hotel, and the pride they take in their historic hotel in an amazing location is what makes it a great place to stay. If you are staying in Amalfi Town, this is perhaps the best location. There are no stairs or steep climbs to get to Bussola from the ferry or via Pietro Capuano (the Main Street of Amalfi). It is worth the money to book a room with a sea view, they have these beautiful big doors that mean you can leave the shutters open overnight and enjoy the sea air as you sleep. And our favourite thing to do was sit on the balcony at sunset with a wine, enjoying the sea views. We really felt like we were taken care of at Hotel Bussola, the family and staff were a highlight of our trip to Amalfi. Grazie Bussola!

Hotel La Bussola was one of the most amazing hotels we have stayed! The hotel cleanliness was immaculate, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the room was deeply cleaned every day. I got married in Amalfi and cleaning staff were so helpful with trying to help my mother in law with a dress malfunction. They truly went above and beyond and we are so grateful for you wonderful ladies! Reception staff were also so helpful in assisting with taxis and helping ship my wedding dress back home. Kitchen staff were so friendly during breakfast service! We will definitely be back!!! Thank you for a wonderful stay

A perfect location in Amalfi. An easy walk to the centre of the town, but just far enough out to be away from there at busy times. It is centrally placed for catching ferries, or boat trips and you can easily walk through or across the main areas quite comfortably. The hotel is quiet, and rooms are very clean and comfortable. Special thanks to Alessandro, Claudio and Alfonso for making either "Aperitivo Time" or evening drinks such a memorable experience at the upstairs bar. They mix a brilliant cocktail, the service is great and they remember your favourite nightcap. A winning combination.

Best Amalfi Hotel

Stayed at La Bussola for 3 nights. This is a very traditional hotel which we loved right on the water in the town of Amalfi. Location was perfect. Amalfi town is a great location for seeing the amalfi coast and the hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the port for boats to Capri etc. all the staff at La Bussola were so friendly and helpful and the restaurant and bar were both wonderful. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!
