Welcome to Fornillo!

  1. The panoramic position
  2. The warm and courteous hospitality
  3. The hotel's bathing establishment

Facing on to the bay of Fornillo, Positano's Hotel Vittoria is the perfect place where to experience the warm and courteous hospitality for which Italy's Amalfi Coast is famous. From the heights of its panoramic position on the cliff face, the hotel enjoys a truly spectacular view of the sea. A flight of steps leads to the beach below.

Hotel Vittoria is a quiet and intimate 20 room establishment, decorated in traditional Amalfi Coast style. The hotel's well-appointed bedrooms feature floors tiled with the area's beautiful hand-painted majolica, romantic wrought iron beds, and balconies or terraces, the majority of which have sea views.

Guests staying at the Hotel Vittoria spend much of their time on the beach situated directly below the property. The hotel's bathing establishment provides sun loungers, deck chairs, and beach umbrellas. An excellent selection of light refreshments are served at the snack bar.

Hotel Vittoria's restaurant is located on a terrace close to the water's edge. Seated beneath a pretty pergola of lemon trees, guests are treated to the very best of the Amalfi Coast's traditional cuisine, including delicious fish and sea food dishes and fragrant pizza cooked in a wood burning oven.

Whilst staying at Hotel Vittoria, holiday makers have every opportunity to explore the town of Positano, wandering through the picturesque historic center and shopping in the elegant boutiques which line its narrow lanes.

Positano is beautiful but very busy.

The staff were lovely and breakfast was good. No pool, which resulted in us having nowhere to sit and relax during the day. Our balcony was very small and had little sun. There were just 2 chairs and a small table, but you had to be careful that you didn’t lean on the wall as there were many ants. If you go to the beach the sun loungers are 40 Euros per day if you want to be close to the sea! No tea and coffee making facilities in the room – just a fridge. We took a travel kettle which made a big difference. Large bathroom with excellent water pressure in the shower and plenty of hot water. Everyone should see Positano – but for a couple of days. Not for a week. 75 steps to our hotel – which was fine – but steps everywhere you went. Such a busy place especially when it's an Italian Bank Holiday.

you can have a nice view from the balcony and where the breakfast, which was very simple, is served........but , the location is HORRIBLE to go in or out of the hotel you had to climb 3 or more floors, I consider my self in a very good shape and this was very sad ........the price of the hotel is NOT worth it , the staff was very kind and helpful ., I don't recommend it for the location

Bait and switch motel with bigs a grueling hike away from the port

This is listed as a waterfront property, but it’s a grueling hike from the beach. There are over 250 steps, and that’s AFTER a 10-15 min uphill walk. It’s true Positano is a lot of stairs, but many hotels can be reached after a few dozen steps, not hundreds. My friend is healing from a leg injury so we chose this place based on the beachfront photos (that are actually photos of another, unconnected hotel nearby) and waterfront description in the listing, so that we could avoid too much climbing. The only water visible from the hotel is a sliver of ocean view visible from the breakfast area. It is deeply recessed into town-the trip up left me so sweat drenched that I needed a shower. There is no mention of any climb in the listing. We also had an infestation of insects in our room. We called the front desk, and when the concierge came to our room he told us it was fine because these bugs don’t bite, and then left us with the bugs. You could not walk in the hotel room without stepping on them. They weren’t cleaned up until housekeeping came the next day. This hotel also has a curfew. We invited two guests to our room. Shortly after, we received a call telling us our guests needed to leave, not because we were making noise or disturbing other guests (I asked), but because he wanted to close the hotel. Presumably this means hotels guests are locked in/out after a certain hour? The concierge threatened to call the police on our guests on their way out. I’m not sure what about 4 adults quietly enjoying a drink in their room, then leaving calmly when asked, warrants a call to the police?

Beautiful authentic Italian hotel with breathtaking views

We had such a wonderful stay at hotel Vittoria. Altogether for our family holiday we booked out 3 rooms. The rooms were lovely - true authentic Italian decor, balconies and views from all angles of the hotel. Breakfast and coffee was wonderful. Staff really friendly. Porters on hand to help with the luggage and they have their work cut out with all the stairs. Yes there are stairs but there is everywhere in Positano. Out the back of the hotel you can walk directly down the stairs to Pupetto beach, which was one of our favourite in Italy. Highly recommend this hotel - we would return in a heartbeat.
