October ends the tourist season on the Amalfi Coast: from the 15th of the month, beach clubs start packing away sun beds and umbrellas, boats are docked for the winter, and many hotels close up until the following spring.
We suggest visiting during the first half of the month, when the weather is warmer and restaurants and hotels are still open for the season.
The Weather in October
October means fall weather, though the first week or two of the month are still warm and sunny, while rain showers and blustery days may begin in the second half of the month. Regardless, temperatures usually remain mild for the entire month, so a light waterproof jacket for the wet days and cooler nights should suffice.
- Average high temperature (in Celsius): 23° C
- Average low temperature (in Celsius): 16° C
- Chance of rain: 30%
- Chance of clouds: 40%
- Average sea temperature (in Celsius): 22° C
- Average daylight hours: 11.30
The water is still warm from the summer sun along the coast, so you will be able to enjoy swimming in the sea by boat or along the beach.
