During high season, there are frequent crossings between Capri and Positano, with departures every 30-60 minutes.
High season (April-October): Trips available from early morning until late afternoon. The first ferry is around 9 am and the last ferry departs around 6 pm.
Low season (November-March): Direct ferries are limited to certain days of the week and are suspended in the event of rough seas. Trips from Capri to Positano in low season are less frequent and mainly in the afternoon.
The trip lasts 40 minutes more or less, depending on the boat chosen.
Types of vessels available
Types of vessels available
Hydrofoils: These fast vessels cover the distance quickly and comfortably. It’s the ideal choice if your time is limited. Hydrofoils are a bit different than fast ferries because they actually have hydrofoils under the hull that are like wings that lift the boat’s hull above the water when it reaches speed. This can make it a bit less stable during rough seas and more susceptible to cancelations in bad weather.
Motorboats: These boats are slightly slower but have large outdoor spaces that are perfect for admiring the view.

The main dock hosts the piers numbered from 0 to 13, while piers 21, 22 and 23 are located in the area called “Banchinella” (on the right of the main pier, facing the sea).
